- More booking requests, with the fare known from the start
Project Overview
Athens Fast Lane runs transfers to and from the airport and the ports of Attica, rides to the casinos, and private tours of Athens, Sounio, Meteora, Delphi and the Peloponnese. The first version of the website, on Wix Studio, presented the services and brought in the first bookings.
What it could not do was answer every traveller's first question: what will my ride cost. We rebuilt it from scratch in custom React, with the same look and a new centre: a booking form that works out the fare from the real driving distance.
The Goal
A traveller looking for a transfer compares three or four options in a few minutes, often on a phone and before the plane has landed. Whoever shows a clear price first has the lead. Whoever asks them to send a message to find out usually loses them.
The main goals were:
- every page and every piece of content from the old website carried over, with its inconsistencies fixed,
- a fare estimate for any route in Greece, within seconds,
- a booking request that reaches the business complete and readable, and a receipt for the customer,
- prices that change on the server, with no new release of the website,
- all bookings visible to the business in one place, instead of scattered across emails,
- and every page loading fast and reading correctly to Google.
What We Built
We built a custom website in React, where every page ships as ready static HTML, with a small PHP back end and a database behind it. The black and gold identity of the business stayed the same. Everything underneath it changed.
The website includes:
- a homepage with a «Get your fare» card in the first screen, beside the headline,
- address search with suggestions inside Greece only and quick picks for the airport and the ports,
- a fare estimate from the real driving distance, with the night fare and the route drawn on a map,
- a booking form with date, time, passengers, luggage, flight or ship number and an optional return trip with its own fare,
- seven transfer pages and seven tour pages, each with its own title and its own description for search,
- two emails on every request: one to the business with a Google Maps link of the route, and one to the customer,
- an admin area in Greek, with today's, upcoming and past bookings, a calendar, and a confirmation that notifies the customer,
- and cookie consent with Google Tag Manager, so campaigns measure only what the visitor allows.
The fare is never calculated in the browser. The server asks Google for the route, applies the business's price list, and works it out again when the booking is submitted, so the amount the customer sees is the amount that reaches the driver.
Key Features
Every item below, on the real screen it lives on.

- 01
The fare, before the booking
The visitor picks a pickup and a drop-off and sees the estimate straight away: amount, distance, duration, the night fare and the route on a map. Change either address and the fare is worked out again, with no reload.

Every route gets its own page
The airport, Piraeus, Rafina, Lavrio and the two casino rides each have a page with duration, distance and what is included. The «Book this transfer» button opens the form with both addresses already filled in.

Tours that raise the value of every customer
Seven private tours, from Athens and Sounio to Meteora and Delphi, with the stops of each one written out one by one. The traveller who came for an airport transfer sees what else they can do with the same driver.

On mobile, call and WhatsApp stay in reach
On the small screen the popular places are chosen with one tap, and the bar with the Call and WhatsApp buttons stays fixed at the bottom. Anyone who would rather talk to a person never has to look for how.

Project Outcome
The website stopped being a shop window and became a working tool. The traveller learns the fare before typing their name, the business receives requests with every detail of the trip, and the owner sees the day on one screen instead of piecing it together from messages.
It is also the base the Athens Fast Lane Google Ads campaigns run on, with the measurement of both forms wired in.
